Reverend Doug Dunlap

Rev. Douglas Allan Dunlap is a graduate of Harvard Divinity school, where he was awarded the Master of Divinity Degree in the year 2000. At Harvard he was awarded the Billings Prize in 1999 for finishing first in the Divinity School Annual preaching competition. In conjunction with his ministerial studies he completed one unit of clinical pastoral Education at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and also completed a field education in chaplaincy at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, Maine.

He is an Associate Member of the international Iona Community, based in Scotland, a religious community committed to peace and social justice in the image of Jesus Christ.

Known locally as “Pastor Doug”, he accepted a call to service to the Wilton Church in January 2003. He was ordained here on May 18, 2003. His ministerial interests’ center on worship, pastoral care, services to youth, community service, ecumenical activity, outdoor ministry, and international mission. He likes to compose prayers and other liturgy for worship, and particularly enjoys the youth sermons called “Time for the Young at Heart.”

Pastor Doug and his wife Mary live in nearby Farmington. They have four children.
